About Mushroom Health Hub
We test mushroom supplements in the lab and track effects over 90-day protocols so you know what actually works before you buy.
Most supplement reviews are written by people who never tested the products. Spec sheets tell you nothing about whether a lion's mane extract holds up to certificate of analysis verification, and they definitely skip the part about brands that use mycelium on grain or supplements with undetectable beta-glucan levels. We know because we check.
So we test everything ourselves. Real labs, real protocols.
How we actually test supplements
The protocol is simple. We buy products at retail, send samples to independent labs for beta-glucan testing and heavy metal screening, then track subjective effects over 90-day minimum protocols with standardized daily assessments. Every health claim gets verified against peer-reviewed research.
Manufacturer claims don't matter much to us. What matters is requesting certificates of analysis from three different brands, comparing their cordycepin content to lab results, and discovering that two of the three are off by more than 50% from their label claims, because that single verification test tells us more than any marketing copy ever could. Does that reishi extract actually contain the triterpenes needed for sleep support? Will this lion's mane powder show measurable nerve growth factor stimulation markers?
Every number on this site came from our testing. A powder that dissolved in 45 seconds got timed. The capsule that survived 90 days of daily tracking without a single missed dose, we counted each one.
What we believe
People deserve supplements that work, backed by research and verified by third-party testing, listing actual beta-glucan percentages instead of proprietary blends.
We buy most of our test products. When companies send samples, we say so. But the reviews read the same either way. A mycelium product is a mycelium product whether we spent $40 on it or got it free.
Sometimes we get things wrong. A supplement that worked well in our 30-day loading phase might show different results in your body chemistry. A powder that mixed cleanly in our hot water tests might clump in your morning coffee. Limitations and edge cases matter, and we try to be honest about them.
Meet the team
The people behind every review and research breakdown here have tracked daily supplementation week after week, year after year, until the effects either prove themselves or turn out to be marketing hype.

Our standards
- Beta-glucan testing: We verify active compound content through independent labs
- COA verification: We request and analyze certificates of analysis
- 90-day protocols: Minimum testing period for subjective effects
- Research-backed: Health claims must have peer-reviewed studies
- First-person testing: We don't review products we haven't personally used
Why trust us
No mushroom supplement manufacturer has a stake in what we write. We don't accept money for positive reviews or hide test results that contradict marketing claims.
When a supplement shows heavy metal contamination or fails to meet beta-glucan label claims, we publish those results. Even if it means losing affiliate relationships. Even if manufacturers threaten to pull sample access.
When honesty costs money, we still publish.
